  1. Thanks for keeping it alive for us dwindling group of former listeners. In Brooklyn in the 50s and 60s, I was a die hard teenaged Rock and Roll fan, but my good friend Al Albano was an equally devoted follower of Sinatra, Torme, Fitzgerald and the rest. He introduced me to WNEW, and the rest is history. I remember my summer job in 1966, working for the Nillson Electric Co. on Lafayette Street in lower Manhattan. The shop raido was always tuned to WNEW, and I was hooked for good. I’m still in touch with Al, and am forever grateful.
